Sa-SH-a I'm going to SQUASH Y-AA! yelled the 4th grade boy laughing down the hallway toward recess. He slowed down just enough to yell in the ear of the 4th grade girl he was attempting to tease... SQUASH! he yelled! He skip-jogged by and then turned back to yell again...LET'S GO PLAY KICKBALL!
SQUASH. Let's just say... it stuck.
Sacha Katz always enjoyed her nickname. Although, her real name (she admits) is much prettier, the nickname makes people chuckle, it sets a picture in their heads and it sparks a curiosity when they hear it. It gave her an identity growing up and even now.
Unlike most stationery companies, Squash U imprintables are given THEIR own identity... the carrying case (aka. envelope). Each imprintable design comes with a matching envelope to give a taste of what might be inside. It portrays an image and immediately demands attention as soon as the recipient opens the mailbox.
When Katz started Squash U in 2004, she sought to make stationery and invitations that were not plain and mainstream like other companies. She wanted to create designs so people could express themselves. They could send something to make people laugh, set an image and spark curiosity.
